Spot collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics, and no networking code of any kind. Nothing you capture is uploaded, because there is nowhere for it to go.
None. Spot contains no code that transmits data over a network. There is no server, no account system, no sign-in, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDK of any kind.
Spot uses the camera to show you a viewfinder and to measure the colour of whatever you point it at. Camera frames are processed entirely on your device and are never transmitted anywhere. When you save a palette, Spot stores a copy of the photo it was taken from on your device so the palette has something to show you later.
Spot can save a palette card to your photo library when you ask it to. It requests add-only access, which means it can write the card you asked for and cannot read, browse, or see any other photo you own.
Everything Spot saves lives inside the app's own private storage on your iPhone:
spot-library.json — your saved palettesspot-liked-colors.json — colours you have heartedspot-library-images/ — the source photo for each saved paletteNo other app can read these files. They are included in your device backup if you back up your iPhone. Deleting Spot deletes all of them permanently.
When you share a palette, Spot hands the card to the standard iOS share sheet and stops there. Where it goes next, whether that is Messages, your photo library, or another app, is your choice and is governed by that app's own privacy policy. Spot is not involved and learns nothing about it.
Spot is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. It collects no data from anyone, including children.
